myra711 Posted June 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2018 He will be going on his first cruise (my third) this summer, and is refusing to go the seafood specialty restaurant on board for fear that the fish can't be "fresh" unless they are reeling them in as we cruise. I know that this isn't true, but I have no info except that we don't have scads of people on cruises suffering from food poisoning!
thinfool Posted June 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Fresh? A relative term. Generally, most of it is frozen. Even the lobster tails are frozen...in some cases they are not even lobsters, but 'rock lobsters', which are oversized crawdads. Still...I enjoy them and often eat two servings.:D

cb at sea Posted June 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2018 All seafood is processed and FROZEN as it's caught, at sea, unless it's a small fisherman delivering to a small business. Even the so-called "fresh fish" in your grocer's iced display case is "previously frozen".

Disappointed that they did not have shrimp or lobster available. [emoji21] Sent from my SM-J727P using Forums mobile app

All grocery stores(except small ones) in all cities/towns, in all areas of this vast nation...ALL seafood is processed and frozen.
