Boarding process for Suites

Recommended Posts

Our last cruise was in the Haven on the NCL Getaway. There we arrived at port around 9:30, went through security and then waited in a small "Haven" waiting room while we checked in. Later on, closer to boarding time, they brought us to a larger room. There were snacks available in both rooms. Then around 11:00 am we were brought on board as a group and brought to the Suite Lounge. They told us a little bit about our experience, and then were going to bring out appetizers and then recommended we ate lunch in the Haven restaurant. However, we had kids who were eager to get swimming, so we headed over to the buffet (while it was still really quiet), and then went back to our room (maybe around 11:45-12:00) and while the rooms weren't technically open, our room attendant was just finishing up and told us we could come in. We dropped our bags and took the kids swimming.

I'm wondering on RCL, is it similar. We are in a crown loft suite:

- Is there a separate line for security for suites?

- Is there a separate waiting room for suites?

- What time is good to arrive at the port to be one of the first boarding, but not sit around too long?

- Do suites board first? Generally what time?

- Do they let you loose or take you to the Suite Lounge?

- Are you able to drop your bags in your room?

- If not, is the time the rooms are ready the same as for the rest of this ship?

Thanks!

OKAY going to hijack thread.

Any thing different for suite boarding in Seattle on Explorer?

Thanks

We went through security and as you enter the terminal where check in occurs, Suite check in was to the left in a small area with seating. We sat down, filled out the “I am not sick” form, waited a minute or two for an agent, and she checked us in, gave us our sea passes (that is what Celebrity calls them, can’t remember what RCCL calls it) and a Suite Lunch pass.

Once we boarded, we showed our suite lunch pass and went to the Viking Crown. It was closed except for Grand Suites and above and Pinnacles. Lunch wasn’t exciting (free drinks, sandwiches and soups) but it was a great place to wait until cabins were ready about 1:30ish.

There is a dedicated 'suite" line. If you get there after boarding has started, you will go thru the line, and onto the ship. No need to wait. I wouldn't arrive before 11am. If you are early, you will have a suite waiting area to sit in.

Oasis, PC

There is a separate security line for suites. As soon as you enter the terminal, you will be directed to the suite security. You will have priority check-in and a separate waiting area with seats (not a room) for suites. You will be able to board before non-suite guests. If you are in a Star Class suite, then your Genie will escort you on the ship and take you to your suite where you can drop your bags. Otherwise you will be unescorted and will have to wait until about 1pm when all staterooms open.

OK, but what time do you get to go on board? And will the suite lounge/CK be open?

Usually around 11am. The SL is accessible via your SeaPass card 24 hours. There should be some snacks in the lounge area, and CK does serve lunch on boarding day, but I don't know if they start at 11am (or earlier).
