Port Canaveral/Port Tampa Bay

Sorry if this is a crazy question but are these two one in the same?

I'm looking at a cruise on Carnival Paradise which leaves from Tampa. I'm pricing flights and there's a great price into MCO. I found a shuttle for $20 from MCO to Port Canaveral, but I can't find anything to confirm that these locations are the same.

Please help.

Thanks.

It still might be to your advantage to fly into Orlando vs. Tampa. Tampa is about an hour and half from Orlando. It all depends on how much you're saving on airfare and whether that will be more than what you're going to have to pay in ground transportation. A cursory search says Uber or Lyft might be your cheapest option at around $80 one way. You could also rent a car one way for about the same.

you may not understand the replies ….

there are a bunch of shuttle options between the Orlando Airport and Port Canaveral …. because Orlando is the closest BIG airport to Port Canaveral

Not so in Tampa

Tampa has a big airport and a pretty small cruise port btw. There are virtually no shuttles from the Orlando airport to the Tampa area in general and NONE specifically to the port.

If your taking the Paradise, that is out of Tampa. Fly into Tampa. Orlando is over an hour away from Tampa. There are plenty of hotels and transportation to choose from between Tampa Airport and the port of Tampa. Orlando is not as convenient.

If you get a great deal on flights to MCO it will work for a cruise from Tampa - as suggested above arrive at least one day early and your easiest and likely most economical option is a one way car rental.

Avis, Hertz and Enterprise have locations near the Tampa port and will shuttle you - if you get a better deal dropping the car off at TPA airport a taxi to the port will run about $27+ or you can Uber/Lyft for just under $20

Good luck! :D
