i know you can use two cruise next certificates when booking balcony and above, but does anyone know if you book in USA for Europe if you can use two on a lower grade cabin?

Thank you

I know the cruise has to be 6 months or more out to use 2[emoji30], I was annoyed at that

My PCC was recently able to send me an offer to use two CruiseNext inside of 6 months, so make sure you check with your Personal Cruise Consultant. On Friday I booked a balcony on the Escape in October (so already inside the final payment window of 120 days) and was able to use two CruiseNexts.

If it's a slow selling cruise you might be able to get an exception if dealing with NCL. Look for out of season, hurricane season, no single supplement, highly discounted rate and that means they are pushing to sell, simple supply/demand.

The thing my PCC sent me was an actual email promotion that could be used on any cruise of 6 days or longer. Here's the image from the email:

For a balcony on a cruise over 6 days, you can always use 2 certificates, regardless of the sailing date.

Then why did that email/graphic say it was a promotion through July 2? I have been told repeatedly that in order to use two CruiseNext deposits at once it has to be Balcony or above AND at least 6 months out.

Also please be aware that you can use them on existing reservations. I had two cruises booked at the beginning of the year and bought two of the certificates in April. After I got back I called my NCL guy and he applied each one to the cruise. Unfortunately I could only use one for each cruise as I booked a studio cabin and not a balcony.

CruiseNext deposits can be used toward any cruise that is six days or longer. Just make sure to use your deposits within four years of purchasing them.

Can I apply more than one CruiseNext deposit toward my next cruise?

Yes, with DoubleUp! you can apply two CruiseNext deposits toward a balcony or higher category stateroom when booked at least six months prior to sail date.

Note: DoubleUp! does not apply to Casino reservations where the gifted category is an Inside or Oceanview, and the guest chooses to upgrade to a Balcony or higher. The gifted category must be a Balcony or higher to take advantage of the DoubleUp! promotion.

DOUBLEUP!

Use up to 2 CruiseNext deposits when you book a Balcony or higher category. This promotion is applicable to all open reservations booked by July 2, 2018.

CRUISNEXT OFFER FOR CUBA CRUISES

For a limited time, you can apply a $250 CruiseNext Deposit toward booking a Cuba cruise on Norwegian Sky or Norwegian Sun. Reservations booked in a Balcony or higher stateroom are eligible for DoubleUp!. This promotion is applicable to all open reservations booked by July 2, 2018.

I am confused.... I posted info on the promotion that ends July 2. Then you said two CruiseNext deposits can *always* be used on a balcony or above regardless of sail date. Then you quote back the FAQ that explicitly states that 2 CruiseNext deposits can only be used when booking at least six month in advance, and then quote back to me the same promo I initially mentioned that ends July 2.

You said they can *always* be used on balcony or above regardless of sail date. That is clearly just not true. There is currently a promo running until July 2 that allows it.

You are correct. This special offer upto 2 July bypasses the "6 months in advance" requirement for using 2 certificates for a balcony cabin.

Normally they want you to book over 6 months in advance, cos prices will be higher then.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hoping someone can answer this question for me: booked my cruise back in March of 2018 of 2 for February 2019. Going on a cruise is September 2018 hoping to buy cruisenext certificates to apply towards the February cruise preferably 2 of them as I booked a balcony. Can this be done? Does the 6 month rule apply to the date of purchase of the certificates in relation to the cruise date or the date of booking?

Booked in January 2018

Cruise in February 2019

Buying new cruisenext certificates in September 2018 to use for February 2019

Want to use 2 certificates per cabin.

You should be able to use the cruisenext certificates when you purchase them. The sail date has to be six months out from use of the cruisenexts. I am sure the cruisenext desk will be able to help you make it happen.

Be aware that if you have applied 2 CruiseNext certificates to a cruise, and along the way the price drops and you ask to reprice your cabin, they will take one certificate away and reissue the certificate back to use on some other cruise. I asked this specifically as I was looking at a cruise far away with limited promos and said I suspect the price will get better. What happens then? And they told me that's what happens. So you get a lower price for booking but have to make up the certificate, which may or may not be a savings. Or you may miss out on a promo like "take 4 or 5" if it comes along.

It’s called a “special”.

I booked a cruise July 2 for a balcony on a cruise next April. Website would only allow the use of one cert:rolleyes:

P.S. I just looked at the website, it says "Double Up" now ends July 31.

If you aren't in final payment, you might be able to go to the part of My NCL where you make a payment and add another cruise next as a payment method. You only needed to use ONE to make the reservation, but you should be able to use the other as a payment method. If you have any issues doing so, call your PCP or the main NCL number and they should be able to get it applied for you. Since your cruise is still more than 6 months out and you booked a balcony, you are eligible to double up, even without the current promotion.

I believe that what Jamie wrote is both logical and correct.

I had the same issue when trying to book the Epic online for December. But I was able to apply each certificate separately and use both for the deposit. Maybe you should call and ask about it. Originally, my reservation looked like it didn't go through and I received a hold email but then when I logged into my account to check before I called, the cruise was showing as booked with the $500 deposit credited.
