Ft. Lauderdale to Miami Cab Cost

Recommended Posts

We are used to taking cabs from the airport to the cruise terminal but this time we are going a day early and are staying at the Best Western Plus Miami Airport North Hotel and Suites. We are flying into Fort Lauderdale and want to know the cheapest way to get to the hotel from the airport. We called the hotel and their shuttle only goes to Miami International.

Sorry this is on the Norwegian section but I could not find anywhere else to put this.

Uber in Jan was $35.00 I think cabs are about double.

Uber is by far the cheapest and easiest way to go. We spent $30 last year with Uber and $85 two years ago in a cab.

<snip> the cheapest way to get to the hotel from the airport. We called the hotel <snip>

The cheapest I've been able to find will be:

$3.75 on a weekday/per person

$5.00 on a weekend/holiday/per person

For the above fare, you can take TriRail from the Fort Lauderdale Airport to Miami International and then call your hotel for the free shuttle.

Do you know how long this would take? Are there a lot of stops?

Here is a link to the train schedule from airport to airport on a weekday. http://www.tri-rail.com/train-schedules/TrainSchedule.aspx?dp=8&ar=1&dt=1

Here is a link to the train schedule from airport to airport on a weekend. http://www.tri-rail.com/train-schedules/TrainSchedule.aspx?dp=8&ar=1&dt=2

For comparison, a car will make the trip in approximately 35 minutes according to Google Maps.

It appears there are six stops between each airport:

  1. Sheridan Street
  2. Hollywood
  3. Golden Glades
  4. Opa-locka
  5. Metrorail Transfer
  6. Hialeah Market

You can find more information about Tri Rail at http://www.tri-rail.com/

last time we took private car, Tahoe, for $100. we had 4 passengers and I wanted my adult son's first cruise to be memorable so I splurged.

wound up using same service on return trip since we could just text driver and skip the Miami cab/rideshare line zoo.

my wife and i took van shuttle once $15 ea. just walked up outside terminal and asked who had room for two more. pretty easy.

I just checked. We were charged $47.92 (did not include tip) by Uber from Port of Miami to FLL in April 2018

Small vehicle - there were just 2 of us.

Same here. FLL to POM was around $30. The trip back hit road construction with a detour on a toll road which bumped us up to $50.

I will probably do one of the shuttle buses next time so the rate will be guaranteed.
