NFL Games on Cruise

Find it rather amusing that people would give up a cruise with family to watch a bunch of overpaid people play a kids game where the outcome of that game has zero impact on their lives.

Want to bet on it then hook up to wifi in port and place your bets.

I find it amusing that other people are amused by how others choose to spend their vacation time.

You obviously didn’t grow up where I did because whether the Eagles win or lose has a HUGE impact on people in the area. However, I do agree in that I would not give up a week long cruise even if it meant I would miss watching the Eagles.

Haven't sailed Carnival in a year and a half.  Have they been showing any NFL/NCAA football games in the sports bars the past 2 seasons?  Looking at a possible sailing in October 2020.

Yeah sports bar, casino bar, red frog pub. But if you're looking to watch college football, make sure your game is on an ESPN channel. From my experience they haven't been showing ABC/NBC/CBS/Fox college football.

We were on the November Breeze Journeys cruise and wasn't even able to watch the LSU vs Alabama game on the ships networks.  Had to watch over the internet on a sports package on a 6 inch screen on a phone.  No ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox.  Only the totally biased NCBS.

That’s right. Kind of like what I said the post before yours college football it needs to be on an ESPN channel. NFL is a different animal. They have a special package for it. I watched the Sunday night football game last week on some weird NBC on ESPN2 deal at the Carnival Magic casino  bar.

My experience is the same as yours.  Carnival is great when it comes to showing NFL games, not very good showing college football games.

And even with the NFL no guarantees outside of the nationally televised games. There were some upset 49ers fans that their game wasn't on. Casual football fans would walk by that casino bar and then come on here and say "they had all the games on"...they didn't. They had half of the noon games on. I know specifically 49er fans were turned away in the RFP and the Casino bar.

Wow, you could stream video on the Breeze. They must have upgraded their system.

Thanks all for the replies.  And if one wants to get a wager or 5 on assorted games, seems it's best to do it before the ship sails out while still in port.

I could bet in ports, but Carnival blocked Fan Duel and my Costa Rican sports book.

Or....I can book the Oasis out of Bayonne and watch ALL NFL games at playmakers and NCAA football on 4 different ESPN stations onboard.  And, not have big brother controlling my internet.  Hmmm.....

Well then, there's your answer. Go for it. Apparently Carnival does not offer what you want, so go with Oasis.

There were pauses and sometimes had to check to see the updated score on the internet, using other phone.  Plus, it was $25 for a 24 hr period to use the internet and then you had to have an additional sports subscription.

From what I have been told, a lot has to do with each ship and how they are wired/configured. For example, Liberty only has the ability to show 4 different games at the same time In the sports bar while Miracle was able to show every Sunday game when we cruised on her.

If Liberty only has four receivers and Miracle has 8 or 9, that would make sense. I actually used to set up the channels for a bar that had Sunday ticket. I think we needed 9 for all of the noon games and only had 8. I'd always leave off the Jets or Bills game. The people who set these up probably don't know or care about real football.
