What's on your wish list for the new Carnival mega ship coming in 2020?

I would like something simple. An ice cream parlor. Baskin & Robbins at Sea. How about some Dole Whip in the soft serve machines? It's a real crowd pleaser.  The bars could sell Dole Whip with a dash or full shot of rum, tell me that would not be delicious.

This is already a thing (except for the dole whip) on at least the vista class.   Cherry on Top has a full ice cream bar in there.

I would like to see Tandoor stay, in addition to all the Funship 2.0-era venues (Guy’s Burger Joint, Big Chicken, Blue Iguna Cantina, etc.). I would also like to see an expanded Mongolian Wok, because it was absolutely slammed every day on my last cruise. I’m pretty sure the expanded Cherry on Top concept will continue, and possibly be expanded further.

If there’s anything worth copying from land, it would be to replace the pizzeria with something along the lines of Blaze Pizza/Pieology/Pie 5, where you can custom order a pizza with as many toppings as you like. It would only require two crew members to run it, perhaps three during peak periods.

Carnival needs to step up their game besides ship size. Hopefully better entertainment all the way around.

I love the oasis class of ship that RC has, what a nice change from Carnivals lame stuff.

Nothing lame about the ship or entertainment on Horizon this last week. Celestial Strings, Amor Cubana, and Vintage Pop were all excellent.... Then to top it off Lip Sync Battle was fantastic. I had more fun on this cruise than I have had in a long time on Royal. Not to mention the food was so much better.

I'd like a fitness area with a hot tub like the Pride that is included.

Hubby would like an Irish Pub.

Sons would like a topless area, sportsbook and weed dispensary!

I literally laughed out loud! Are our are sons friends...lol?

They are unique and a marvel of ship building, that is true.  That said, I felt something lacking when on Oasis and fear the same thing for this ship.  No pun intended, but felt disconnected from the sea.  The best way I can describe it the difference it is like flying on a narrow body jet and a 747 or A380.

RCCL & CCL have two basic differences.  RCCL builds there ships (Oasis) as 'outside in' and CCL is 'inside out'.  Meaning everything drives you inside on RCCL and outside on CCL.  My preference is the sea, not a fake park.  IMHO.

Lol!! I had to laugh at this! Tell your sons that as far as a topless Deck is concerned, they are about 10-15 years too late on that! All Carnival ships had topless decks before they decided they could make more money developing that top of ship space to make it more family friendly by adding water parks, multiple slides, and other sport activities. Last time we saw a topless Deck was in 2007 on the Triumph.

As for an Irish Pub, we loved that on our NCL ships, with COMPLIMENTARY 24 hour menu in a sit down environment. It would be nice to add that to Carnival ships.

Not sure if the weed dispensary will ever happen, though, but stranger things have happened. 🤣🤣🤣

No, I've been on the Miracle though, where part of the lowest portion of the funnel is translucent with a steakhouse below it, just like the Splendor, but I was referring to a 100% translucent funnel, top to bottom. THAT would be cool (though impractical).

The internal structure of the funnel would definitely make that a no-go.  I could see a bit of what is going on in that area while on the Sunshine last week.  The 6-8 chimneys are surrounded by crew-access scaffolding/ladders/stairs, and I suspect a bunch of other equipment is stuffed in there.  But yeah, it would look cool if it wasn't so full of stuff.

i would love a dedicated karaoke area (that could obviously double for other things) that was NOT located in a smokey bar or hallway.

On Sunshine the karaoke areas were the Havana bar/seating area and the Red Frog Pub.  Plus piano-oke in the Piano Bar (at least it was this past cruise with Gilbert!)

Punchliner had lines because it was too small and everyone wanted a seat. Make it bigger.

Mongolian Wok has long lines because it is custom made. (I will probably catch heat here) Make it premade

Again on Sunshine last week, the Punchliner might have had a line for the early show, but we could walk in at ten minutes prior and find a seat - even showing up at the very start we could stand at the bar.  But the line-ups for the next show...not sure how they got all those folks in there...

We never saw long lines at Mongolian Wok - maybe had to wait a minute or two after loading up the bowls with noodles/veggies to get a wok-slot, and then a few minutes for it to cook.  But maybe we just got lucky.

I would like to see the casino area positioned so it is not a requirement to walk through to get from one end of that deck to the other.  On Sunshine, the only way to get from the Funshops to the Alchemy Bar, or from the Alchemy Bar to the mid/fwd elevators/stairs for Fixed time dining, was to go through (fully or partially) the very smoky casino (or up a deck or more).  Liberty had a casino bypass, which was nice.

Yeah!  As long as it served beers more interesting that just Guinness and Harp though - I love craft beers, and there are some excellent Irish or Irish-style reds/stouts/porters beyond the standard-issue G&H.

I would appreciate in no particular order:

  • Hot tubs that are actually hot.

Interesting.  On both Sunshine and Liberty, I found the hot tubs way too hot - I couldn't stay in there for more than 5 minutes.  And I love a good hot shower/bath!

I'd like to have a much bigger and more lavish Serenity area (and I realize Sunshine has one of the biggest and best for Carnival).  More pods and cabanas, more hots tubs (slightly cooler temps!), a second bar, and better isolation from the noisy Lido - if you were in the aft-half of Serenity you couldn't nap if a matinee dive-in movie was playing or they were doing some other loud day-time Lido activity.

We're on Radiance in Dec 2020, and that seems to have a tiny Serenity area.  Not sure how that's going to work out...

Well that’s good to hear . I thought the food on Carnival and Royal were pretty even with the exception of the buffet, I think Royals Windjammer buffet was absolutely discussing on the Allure , I mean really really bad.

oasis class of ship is a hard act to follow.
