Bars on Elation

We just booked a quick getaway on the Elation in September. We were on the Legend prior to dry dock this spring in Hawaii. Legend at the time didn’t have Alchemy but there was a martini bar with a similar menu (Cucumber sunrise, Remedy, Pineapple Chipotle Martini ect) and the mixologists were present (white coats and all). Basically Alchemy in everything but name. Does Elation have anything similar? We really love the Alchemy Bar...and hoping for some good pre dinner drinks.

Thanks everyone!

Yes I know but I didn’t know if anything was similar to Alchemy with a different name like we experienced on the Legend. Basically is there a martini bar onboard?

Going on the Elation in 24 days. This would be so awesome if there is a bar like that, as I am a big fan of the Alchemy bar cocktails. I hope there is some type of martini bar onboard!

Can’t figure out for the life of me why they didn’t convert the aft bar (just before the comedy club) (maybe the Cole Porter Lounge but I might be confusing ships) into an Alchemy bar during last year’s dry dock. It seems like such an easy conversion to make and the Alchemy bars seem very popular. That bar is beautiful, though, and a very relaxing place to sit and have a drink. But I don’t think the drinks are anything different than the other bars.

I don’t understand why they haven’t converted the aft bar to an Alchemy Bar on all fantasy class ships, which have had a dry dock in the recent past. They converted the aft bar on Sensation to an Alchemy Bar, but they didn’t do that to Paradise when it was in dry dock earlier this year.

Gatsy's Bar, which is the aft bar outside the comedy club does the Martini Tasting, so is probably your best bet.

We've been on the Elation twice and enjoyed the Gatsby's bar -just outside the comedy club. The bartenders were great and good at concocting special martinis for us. Maybe not Alchemy but good bartenders!

I agree with the above poster's statement. There are martini tastings, and I found this bar to be great, with the bartenders willing to make almost anything. That said, I also found that it was best to go during "off" times. When it's busy, I felt the wait times for drinks was long and more standard. I know the casino bars can be "smoky", but some of the best bartenders were there as well.

Gatsby would be perfect to change. There was almost never anyone there.

I am just off the Elation today. You are correct that there was almost never anyone at the Gatsby Bar. There was only one bartender that I ever saw working there and he seemed annoyed when anyone wanted a drink. I heard him say to one couple “if you’re going to the comedy show, you can just order in there”. There was only them and myself at the bar when he said that. That bar is nice and large and I think an Alchemy bar there is such a great idea and would be very profitable.

Wow that’s horrible. Not like it used to be. They did put an alchemy there on at least one of the fantasy class. The one I was looking at out of San Juan has an alchemy there.
