Our cruise package includes 4 specialty restaurants. Although we have cruised quite a few times we have never eaten in one. Can you order soup to nuts? Can you order two appetizers? Just how does it work when its included in your cruise package?

Thanks All!!!

You can only have one entree, but other than that - as much as you like. Just pick from the menu.

That's in the speciality restaurants that are considered standard - Ocean Blue and a few others have upcharges now. The waitstaff will tell you if there is anything excluded (Le Bistro has one sharing plate not included, for instance).

Note that some servers will try and tell you only one appetizer, side, and dessert per person, but you can disregard this and order whatever you want and not be charged extra. Entrees are the only item they enforce the limit on.

NCL says "**Benefit entitles each guest to one appetizer, one entrée and one dessert of your choice. Entrée items up to $20 are covered. For items over this amount, an upcharge will be added to your onboard account. Entrée item Côte De Boeuf Pour Deux in Le Bistro, is a shared dish and will be treated as two entrées. No restaurant substitutions."

It seems to depend more on the ship and the server than anything else.. There is a set standard: 1 appetizer, 1 entree and a dessert, but everyone has had different experiences. It seems most of the time the only cut and dry policy is only 1 entree, which makes sense. Regardless, you will love the experience and be spoiled from now on. We are so spoiled we rarely do the MDRs anymore. We would just as soon do O'Sheehan's on the nights we don't have specialty dining. Oh, I am exaggerating again. We do enjoy MDRs but not compared to specialty.

Interesting you would bring up the upcharge; we had never had this happen when using our free platinum plus free dinner until our last cruise. I was charged an extra $5 for surf and turf at Cagney's. The worse part, our service was awful the restaurant was crowded and the shrimp was just so/so. I think I will skip any upcharge entrees next time. The only good side of this was: we had a lot of OBC non refundable so it was a way of getting rid of, at least $5.

To avoid confusion, the above are the terms for the platinum latitudes meal. The OP asked about the dining package, which is a different thing.

The limitations above do not apply to the dining package.

That's the Platinum meal, not the one the OP is asking about.
