Scorpio41 Posted August 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2018 I can’t get the picture to up load. It has two straight pins and one round pin. Is this okay for Sapphire princess cabins?

beg3yrs Posted August 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Should be fine if it's just an adapter and doesn't have any kind of surge suppression. Most simple adapters, like the one Lew posted, don't.
hm9912 Posted August 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Thank you for the picture. Is Sapphire the same? Never been on the Sapphire but a call to Princess might be able to answer your question? Howard

OR_Cowboy_1952 Posted August 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 16, 2018 The North American (NA) plug has two slots and a round hole. The left (longer) slot is "neutral," the right (shorter) slot is"hot" and the hole below them is the "ground." Some NA electrical devices do not had a ground prong, they are ‘double’ isolated instead. One things to check, North American power is 120V at 60 Hertz (frequency). UK power is 240V at 50 Hertz. Your UK device may or may not work on NA power. Check your device. Sent from my iPad using Forums

The cruise ships usually have European type sockets. They also usually have American type sockets. You do want to make sure that any device that you plan to plug in is both 110/220 capable. Most electronic devices and charges sold these days are, but you should check yours.
newport dave Posted August 16, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Sapphire has 2 US sockets by the desk, they are really close together so one becomes useless when a UK adaptor is plugged in.

DrivesLikeMario Posted August 16, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 16, 2018 If you need more space to plug in electrical items, bring a small two-prong European adapter. Works great at the desk area: https://www.amazon.com/Unidapt-European-Adapter-quality-Converter/dp/B077WCS211/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1534446244&sr=8-4&keywords=two+prong+european+adapter+plug

IECalCruiser Posted August 16, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 16, 2018 Here is a photo on the Caribbean Princess, same on the Regal, and the Royal. Howard I haven’t seen that arrangement on the Sapphire, only on the Regal. Most Princess ships do not have the European receptacle but two U.S. receptacles very close to one another.
