tiffcruisers Posted August 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2018 You must have credit card on file to use any on board credit in casino! I discovered this on the Dawn this April. I put one down to be able to play my 1k in prepaid onboard credit. Stupid rule IMO;)

Casino Comp Chick Posted August 22, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2018 never heard of that but regardless, I don't know why it is stupid? Because he prepaid for $1000 on his account, he should not be required to put a card down until he is out of money. Why have holds put on your CC when you don’t need to. Got No Real Name Posted August 22, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Because he prepaid for $1000 on his account, he should not be required to put a card down until he is out of money. Why have holds put on your CC when you don’t need to. No one said there would be a hold on the credit card, just that a card has to be on the account. tiffcruisers Posted August 22, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Yes, I had put down cash and brought cash. I don't like gambling on credit and was trying to make sure I behaved. I pre purchased 1k in onboard credit, brought cash to gamble with planning on using on board credit as a backup. I had to put 300 down in cash as well. Day 5 I used up my cash and wanted to use my prepaid on board credit. Casino was getting 3% because my level is not high enough. I had to put down a credit card which they pulled another 500 hold so I could use the prepaid 1k to gamble. How is that NOT stupid- except on my part for doing this:rolleyes:
Got No Real Name Posted August 22, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 22, 2018 They do run holds on it even when you have OBC Never has happened to me, and anyway who cares, it is just a temporary hold. It falls off almost immediately.

Hold took 10 days to fall off-don't comment on what you don't know;)
Mike_DeA Posted August 23, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 23, 2018 (edited) Never has happened to me, and anyway who cares, it is just a temporary hold. It falls off almost immediately. If you use a credit card for your onboard account then it HAS happened to you, you just didn't notice it. Who cares? Folks who have limited available credit on the card at the time of the cruise. And it does not always fall off quickly, people have reported it can takes weeks. Edited August 23, 2018 by Mike_DeA
