Demongear Posted September 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2018 I was hoping for some direction. I was booked on a refundable deposit cruise with a reduced deposit for September 2019. I recently changed ships and itineraries to a non-refundable price. I kept the same booking number, do I have to pay the difference to bring the deposit amount up to the normally required $250.00 p/p or does it stay the same. My new receipt says the $500 is due by 9/23 and I will be on a cruise that date. Thanks Sent from my iPad using Forums
deliver42 Posted September 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2018 I would suggest calling, but I think when you changed ships, and rebooked, even with the same number, you would have to pay the prevailing deposit.
molly361 Posted September 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2018 Yes you would have to pay the full deposit. I'm surprised that the agent did not ask for it right away when you changed the booking.
dd likes to cruise Posted September 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2018 You can call ahead and set up a payment. I would hope you don’t wait till the absolutely last day to pay anyway. Who knows what could happen.
Desert Cruizers Posted September 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2018 I recently had to switch our sailing and the deposit from the previous cruise was not carried over but will get FCC that I can apply to the new cruise as long as I use them before they expire. Host Jacquelyn Posted September 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 16, 2018 I did that in the past, and needed to pay the difference in deposit. I suggest you call and straighten things out today.

gerif Posted September 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 16, 2018 So just pay the additional amount now before you leave on that other cruise. What’s the big deal?

Rare whitshel Posted September 16, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 16, 2018 I didn't have too, I booked under the Celebrity $50 deposit last black friday and then switched it too RCCL Freedom of the seas. My booking still says deposit due Dec 1st, 2017 and the cruise is in 2020. I've done this before as well it seems to be fine. My Liberty cruise this Jan was booked under a next cruise reduced deposit a couple years ago, changed it to a NRD and never paid anymore on the deposit for at least a year. I did just add it to a group, so then I had to pay the full deposit.
Tracker76 Posted September 18, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 18, 2018 I also did not have to pay the deposit difference for my cruise in December but it had to be changed due to the original cruise being charted.
