Grand Princess 2 hours late on 9/30

There was a helicopter medical evacuation at sea today on the Grand. It won’t be into SF until 9:00 am on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018.

It appears they publicize the possibility of being as much as two hours late simply as an abundance of caution. Seems there were no reported issues with disembarkation delays last time.

My family was scheduled to do a Bon Voyage Experience on this sailing tomorrow, and we received a call and email this afternoon that it has been cancelled due to the quick turnaround. Money will be refunded but we can still use our $39pp credit.

This happened the night before our sailing on 9/3 on the Grand as well.

Just a warning to those heading out on the 9/30 sailing, the Embarcadero will most likely be all clogged up with traffic. It took us well over an hour to get from the freeway exit to pier 27. Thankfully, we were in an Uber car so the fare didn't keep climbing ... but we tipped our driver well for all the extra time it took.

The USCG was called to the Grand this am when a 77 year old woman had a stroke. The Grand was 55 miles from Newport OR. I hope she is okay.
