"How to" questions

Thanks to everyone's help I have figured out how to find the threads that I am already subscribed to, but I'm unable to figure out how to subscribe to a new thread.  Instructions would be greatly appreciated. 

I have tried to use the "message" feature, but it doesn't seem to be working. It says that I am limited to 0 messages a day. Is this feature working, or am I doing something wrong?

The message option is not enabled.  Cruise Critic doesn't "do" private messaging.

At the top of the page, on the right side across from the thread title is a box containing the word Follow with a number. Click on the word to subscribe to the thread. The number indicates how many people have done so.

There are some how to stickies at the top of the Need help sub forum, in the same forum as bugs and glitches. I found them helpful.
