Two hours later at Shanghai Noodle Bar.....

Our group decided to push our limits after a bunch of drinks at Sugarcane. For the record- Sugarcane on the waterfront is a great spot for drinks and a good time. Usually find some live music and a chill crowd.

Full disclosure- the plates we ordered at Shanghai were shared among the 8 people in our group. Our kids are big fans of asian food......scratch that....our kids are big fans of soy sauce and noodles/rice are just vehicles to get more soy sauce in their stomach.

Shanghai was a cool little spot. Only open from 5 to 10 pm. Seemed crowded most of the time. It was around 9:30 pm when we stopped in so we found some open spots. It is located adjacent to the casino so if you are sensitive to smoke, keep that in mind before you make plans. I'm not a smoker and not a fan of the smell but it was not that bad to me.

Potstickers and Shrimp Dumplings.

Potstickers win. The Shrimp Dumplings were meh...

Day Three- Breakfast. Taste Dining Room

This morning I decided to start off with the Fruit and Yogurt Parfait.

Looked good from a distance but.....it was more like strawberry jelly. I didn't know I had an opinion on yogurt parfaits till that moment. I think I wanted a higher ratio of yogurt? Is that a thing? I can't believe myself sometimes.

Anyway- one of my kids thought it was the best thing ever, so......

Breakfast Entree Number One- Croque Madame Sandwich

My first thought was "oh damn- is that white bread?" But then realized white bread was the hero of my childhood PBJ's and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches so I needed to give it a chance.

This was a good sandwich! The cheese and béchamel sauce was a nice compliment to my over-easy egg. I was pretty happy. The white bread came through and silently served its purpose by soaking up all the rich gooeyness.

Perfect timing!! We sail the Getaway this Sunday, and now you have me excited for all the food. I'm not usually foodie person, but all you've shared looks great!

Also, thanks for including the hours for Shanghai's. We haven't ever tried it -- we usually forget about it with all food options available -- but plan to this time. The potstickers look great!

Day Three Lunch- Wasabi

We did not have a dining package for this cruise. This lunch was for 4 people (two adults, one 14yr old, one 12 yr old). We do enjoy getting sushi when we are home and decided we would go to Wasabi as a family. We paid the menu prices- approx $60 with the service charge. Drinks were free since we had the UBP.

First- Miso Soup. Tasted like typical Miso Soup.

Loving this review. We are on the Bliss next week, but many of the main menu items are fleet wide. Really appreciate the pros and cons on how each item tasted. I’m already making mental notes for our cruise.

This roll was interesting. It was filled with fried shrimp and topped with seared sirloin, chimichurri, and fried garlic chips. The kids did not care for it. I thought it was a fun different twist on a roll. Might be a good option for those nervous about raw fish but still want to experience the sushi bar with friends.

The buffet desserts all have a similar theme- kinda like those jell-o no bake desserts. They definitely give you a sweet fix but not my personal preference. This one, however, was reeeeal good. Blueberry something. Maybe had a hint of lemon too- I dunno? Stay away from the flat things sticking out- pretty sure thats melted crayon.

Dinner Day Three- Tropicana Dining Room.

If you didn't know- they have live music in this dining room. It's pretty chill except when "Burn the Floor" joins for about 30 min a couple of nights.

Tonight I started with Chicken lettuce Wraps. Similar to PF Chang's. The mound of rice noodles was not necessary. Still tasted good.
