Message Problem?

I'm getting this notification when attempting to send a message to another CC'r:

 

 "You are only allowed to send 0 messages per day. Please try again later."

 

I'm logged in, and can obviously post in the Forums.  Any help?

This forum does not allow, nor did it ever allow, messaging.

Thanks for the responses.  Years ago, I think CC allowed messages, as several of us used messages to set up a few shore excursions.  Guess I didn't realize the function had been deleted.

If it did, it must have been well over a decade ago. I'm sure that it's not been allowed since CC first moved to vBulletin, and I can't actually remember messaging ever being allowed so long as I've been a member here.

Very curious then what the envelop icon with the designation "message" is used for next to my name.

That's a default feature/option provided by the designers of this new forum.  

 

The old forum had that option, also, but, like here, it was not enabled.  There is no private messaging on Cruise Critic.
