Has anyone bid on multiple rooms and had 2 bids expire but 1 still pending?  If so did you end up winning the pending bid or did it eventually expire as well?

Yes, exactly that scenario on upcoming September sailing.  RCI cannot explain it. 😕

My worries were for naught... we've been upgraded to a CLS our 1st ever Sky class cabin!  So excited!

Congratulations!  So now that you've won, if you don't mind please let us know what you bid vs the min/max for that CLS upgrade.

And thanks for confirming that you can have other TrueUP bids expire with one remaining as pending -and then later win that pending bid...

I first was notified of bids available about 45 days before.  We were in a JS and could bid on GS, OS, CLS and 1 bedroom AquaTheatre.  OS, CLS and ATS were all min $700 and GS was $300. I looked up what cabin inventory was knowing I wasn't likely seeing a true quantity,  but there were 15 CLS, 2 OS and 5 ATS, no GS showing available at that time.    I don't remember for sure what the max bids were, but I think the GS was about $1250 and the others were around $4500.  I bid $1000 on everything except the ATS that I didn't bid on at all.  The GS rated a strong bid and the other just barely a fair bid.  We were notified 13 days before sail date that we won a CLS.  All cabins had shown as sold out for about 10 days prior to acceptance of our bid.

It was a free cruise for two inside cabin paying for port charges and taxes. When I booked it in May I upgraded to a balcony for an extra $29pp. I put a bid in for a junior suite for $150 pp. I think it was the lowest I could bid. I never ever thought it would be accepted but got an email from Royal on 8/8 that my bid was accepted for my Cruise on I 8/10. Go figure. I was happy try a regular balcony but was pleasantly surprised to be in a JS. Good luck all!

I've tried reading thru this thread and see lots of people upgrade prior to the cruise- and without the royalup. Is there a specific site or sales page that people follow to look for these great upgrade prices? Or do they just do a fake reservation on the RCI page to see the difference in cost?

Just do a mock booking on RCI's site (or other sites since they often show more availability than RCI).

I put in the lowest bid they would accept for the RLS on Symphony. Would be fun if they take it, but then I will get the bill 😔 The total for my current 2 BR ATS plus what I bid about what the RLS is currently listed for on the cruise, but I will not have to pay any additional for the other three people so I think that helps. They were taking bids up to I think $9,500 PP which seems odd considering that is more than the actual price PP of the suite, but I guess it is interesting marketing research. I will let you know what happens.

I up graded to a balcony from an inside when I originally booked the cruise. I got the inside for free, from a casino, upgraded to a balcony when booking, the placed a royal up bid. I was surprised how cheap the balcony upgrade was. Didn't even ask about ocean view.

How do you Royal up?  Please explain what website or link to get this information/bid for an upgrade.  I will be sailing on Ovation of the Seas in May going to Alaska so would like to know how to upgrade.

Another question for those of you renting a car in Lahaina,  which car rentals are near the cruise port and what would the options be to get there.  Excuse my asking two questions on different topics.  I find this website very difficult to navigate and not user friendly.  TIA

I"ve rented cars a few times at Lahaina.  There are several agencies at the Kapalua airport (code JHM).  About a 10-15 min drive from the pier.  They all will have shuttles waiting for customers at the pier (near the banyan tree).  Shuttles usually will only pick up customers with reservations.  Don't make the mistake of booking your rental car reservation at the other airport on Maui, Kahului (OGG), a 1+ hour  drive from Lahaina.  Get the convertible!  Good luck.

I think you quoted the wrong post.
