Activities During Trans Atlantic Ocean Crossing

We were wondering what activities are available during the 6+ days crossing the Atlantic, especially on the Pacific Princess.

We are not interested in the usual art auctions, etc. Are there any lecturers aboard presenting interesting topics, bridge games, trivia, do they have afternoon tea and sandwiches.

Thank you.

I can let you know in 22 days. We're doing the TA for this year on the Pacific Princess. We do have a few people organizing some card games. Unlikely they will have any art auctions. There's no art gallery. Are you Westbound or Eastbound?

We are going Westbound.

There will be one or two guest lecturers but the topics (and lecturers) change from ship to ship and itinerary to itinerary.

There will not be Princess organized bridge.

There will be several sessions of trivia each day, just like sea days on non-trans-ocean cruises. Also there will be the afternoon tea.

It varies from one TA to another based on who's available to lecture. There will be a couple of lecturers who are experts in some field. They will then do a series of programs on their topic. On six westbound TAs, we've experienced presentations on art history, baseball, navigation, weather systems, giant squid, history of ocean travel, etc. Some presenters are better than others but we've enjoyed most. These are all done by people who are onboard just for that cruise. Not all of them are paid, some do it in exchange for a free cruise.

In addition to the usual trivia, there may be an ongoing trivia game where you stick with the same team over a series of days. There might be a passenger choir organized by the entertainment staff, rehearsing throughout the crossing and performing on one of the last afternoons or evenings. All of this depends on the cruise director.
