papuchon Posted December 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2018 I just got an email from Celebrity. 30% off for upgrading from Classic yo Premium. Should I take this offer or wait until we are aboard this coming Friday? I know that you have good offers when you are sailing.

sofietucker Posted December 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2018 It's not going to get any better. The difference is that if you wait till you board, the bar staff will hound you to death to upgrade--and they may only offer a 20% discount, if that.
jelayne Posted December 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2018 22 cruises on X never was the upgrade discounted, only saw beverage packages discounted twice and then 25%.
Atwell Posted December 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Definitely, take it. Call Celebrity, or even better, call the Celebrity Captain's Club number. They will help you get it done quickly. Don't waste time trying to do it on-line. Most/some of the time they have to add your current package onto your cruise planner before the upgrade can be applied. There is rarely any consistency on how to get things done on-line so better to get help. The Captain's Club reps are so very helpful. The number is listed (somewhere) on the Celebrity web site.
welshwizards Posted December 1, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2018 (edited) I have just upgraded to the premier drinks package, no brainer it worked out approximately £6.50 per person per night. Absolute bargain. Offer ends on Monday Edited December 1, 2018 by welshwizards
ebtrip Posted December 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2018 (edited) Did upgrade yesterday.. was an extra $5.00 per day plus 18% tax. This was on our 15 day Hawaiian cruise in October. Great deal Edited December 1, 2018 by ebtrip

publicpersona Posted December 2, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 2, 2018 If you will get value out of cocktails, beer, smoothies, coffees, etc., then do it. If you are doing it to get access to better wines, don't waste your time.

The $6 per glass of wine between the Classic and the Premium gets you a significant difference in wine options. You can also purchase even better wines for a little more per glass. publicpersona Posted December 2, 2018 #11 Share Posted December 2, 2018 I appreciate that we all have different data points, owing to different ships, different points in time, and even tastes in wine. I've posted my experience in using the premium package recently at the thread below. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2609729-premium-package-for-wine-drinkers-is-not-all-that-premium/?tab=comments#comment-56239689
