Dawn with kids

We are taking our second cruise this spring and will have our 6 and 8-year-old.  We did a cruise 3-4 years ago with them on the Getaway (or Breakaway.. I can't remember what it's called), where there were waterslides, rope course, big trampoline thing.  They were younger at the time and we didn't get to use most of those things.

I know Dawn does not have the slides/ropes course, etc.  Can anyone let me know what other things would be good for them on this ship?

Thanks!

we were on Jade a couple of weeks ago, and as far as kids are concerned - there isn't much to do with them. We have a 7 yo.

The chess and checkers sets on the deck are nice, if your kids are into it. Ping pong - yes.

Arcade was terribly expensive, so it's a no for us.

DS ate a ton of soft serve - that and the hot tubs were the highlight of this very short cruise.

Oh, and the smoke smell was everywhere - the library was soaked with it, and everything on decks 6 through 8 as well.

Dawn is even worse than Jade in terms of cigarette smoke.

When we sailed the Dawn, my kids were 8 and 6 and loved the kids pool area on the aft of deck 12. We ended up spending a few hours a day back there. They were also big fans of the kids club on board. I'd definitely take them again.

I agree the dawn pool area is great for younger kids and they have their own hot tub in the kiddie pool area. My kids LOVED that when they were smaller. We sailed the Dawn a year ago and the theme for the kids was circus so there was different time slots for them to learn tricks and there was a magic show they could join but they had to go to all practices so my kids didn't bother with that but they loved the learn to whatever when we did those.

Casino on Dawn was very smoky my husband would have to leave him clothes on the balcony just to air them out. I hope they switch casino to non smoking at some point.

Hi, I actually got on a ship late (3 days late...Celebrity) on a 14 day because I wanted to spend more time in Santorini.  I skipped Athens because we had been there.  We had to take our luggage to a special boat off the side of the cruise boat with some officers who checked everything in.  I know this is getting on vs off but I don't see why they care as long as you pay for the entire cruise.  What do I know, though?  Nothing.  Just know it works the other way around.
