Rare MicCanberra Posted December 12, 2018 #26 Share Posted December 12, 2018 Lots of friends bring their own tea, hot water available on many areas around the ships.
lisiamc Posted December 12, 2018 #27 Share Posted December 12, 2018 I’ve found that pretty much the only place I’m going to get a decent cup of tea is the UK, (unless I’m given a kettle in my cabin) and the only place I’m going to get a decent coffee is Italy. So I’ve had to accept that on board a ship, barely drinkable is going to have to be good enough. We bring our own Yorkshire Tea bags, and if the cup is pre-warmed, the water at the buffet on many ships will produce an acceptable cup of tea. Usually I can custom-blend the skimmed milk and the full-fat milk to get semi-skimmed, and I'm pretty happy.
navybankerteacher Posted December 12, 2018 #28 Share Posted December 12, 2018 Of course it is a matter of acquired taste - I cannot help wondering about the estrogen-enhanced recycled Thames Water my sister and brother in law happily use at their home in Herts. Pure, freshly boiled water with a good tea makes good tea —- wherever you choose to enjoy it.

Next time you're on/nearby Scott Road, stop by the RCSS. There was something like 12 different brands/grades of loose leaf tea there when I visited. Affirmative - Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows. Will check out our local RCSS, but note Save-on-Foods now has an extensive British aisle and we also head over to the Black Pudding Company in Langley. kerryincork Posted December 15, 2018 #31 Share Posted December 15, 2018 I find the water hot enough for my tea (I bring my own) my problem is with the tiny mugs you get. I usually buy a mug as a souvenir and then have a mug big enough 😂 If you have a staff canteen the hot water are simular
