In the last 2 months we have embarked on deck 6 and deck 7.

Thanks for such a quick reply!

The reason I asked the question was studying the ship's deck plan, I see no obvious entry point other than an open deck area mid-ships.  I like knowing where I may embark so that I have some idea as to which direction to go--aft or forward--to try to avoid the crush of humanity using the central elevators/stairways at mid-ship.

You are welcome........

You will enter in the Atrium on either deck.

On the Royal I think we boarded on deck 5 into the Piazza area. In any case the center elevators as well as forward elevators were staffed with operators. To get to the aft elevators you must go up to deck 7 by elevator or stairs. There is no access to aft elevators from decks 5 or 6.

We embarked on deck 5 last week... the grand entrance to the piazza.... the elevators are a nightmare the first  few hours regardless but obviously walking forward towards princess theater or to the aft elevators is your best bet. This has been the smoothest embarkation we have ever had. We arrived around 1:30 with maybe 15 - 20 people entering the terminal in front of us.
