Krazyfuntimes Posted January 2, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2019 You will probably be onboard with a ton of kids and teachers. They have a week break around that time. We went that week last year. Fun crowd and the kids were all well behaved. Cold as heck for a couple days, then sun and warm blue skies. Not a ton of outdoor activities but a lot inside. Enjoy!

Later on day 2 you can likely wear shorts outside if you are a northerner. As far as pools, Anthem has both a Solarium pool and an indoor family pool, so you can swim day 1 if you want.

Anthem has an indoor pool for this reason. Also, the solarium (adults only) is indoor. Once you're in warmer weather, you can then move to the outdoor pool if you so wish. Chances are it will be warmer, but you can never tell for sure. As folks have said, Anthem has a lot of large indoor spaces with great views - Solarium, indoor pool, 270, and Seaplex. Just be sure to wear adequate winter clothing when you board. In March you could really need it for either embarkation or debarkation. No reason to miss the thrill of sailing under the Verrazano Bridge because you didn’t bring the right gear.
blushfulstall Posted January 2, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 2, 2019 Just got back from the holiday cruise on Anthem: It was around mid 40s for the first couple of days and with windy weather, they closed the outdoor pools but the indoor ones are fine. Crowded like sardines since it was during break so expect that as well since February is mid-winter break in NY/NJ. Florida was around 60s when we arrived, expect similar weather in February (close to low 70s) We were unlucky and got really heavy winds throughout the whole trip, which diverged from CocoCay and ended up spending two days in Nassau with heavy clouds and windy which wasn't entirely fun since you couldn't lay down on the beach without sand smacking against you and the water was too cold to really enjoy. I would advise to explore excursions (like Atlantis) as backup
Overtyme Posted January 3, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted January 3, 2019 Forecast for Feb 15 - suggests that temps in Orlando Florida are in the mid 70’s and in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. found some cruise compasses online for Nassau for Feb which shows date and temp and was consistent with this. At that time of year, anything can happen, but here’s hoping!! also hoping that we’re not packed like sardines, but it is Winter break!
