To hopefully broaden my food likes, as I do miss out on a lot of wonderful (by everyone else's accounts including my wife!) food on board. Well, hopefully a very useful day for you then, a fascinating subject. I really hope they help you to get results!

It would be interesting. We've only seen bits on this thread. Channel 5 has a show about the MSC Bellissima next Friday (14/2 20:00) , so who knows, maybe Iona will feature in a future episode? jaydee6969 Posted February 12, 2020 Author #454 Share Posted February 12, 2020 Meyer Werft update, as I think due to Dennis the Menace coming in over the weekend, the float out has been brought forward a few days. Google translation below of social media post:- Expected on the night of Thursday, February 13., 2020 to Friday 14. February 2020, the Iona will leave the covered baudock ii for the British shipping company P & O cruises. The docking of the ship starts around midnight. After the Iona has been docked out, the ship will mooring on the equipment pier of the shipyard and receives its chimney cladding there. Mooring on the equipment pier is scheduled for about 3:30 pm.Until the ems transfer towards the north sea, which is expected to take place at the end of March, the ship is located in the shipyard port. The interior design continues and further technical tests on board.Time changes in dock are possible due to weather conditions 4

jaydee6969 Posted February 13, 2020 Author #458 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Little update from Meyer, that they are expecting float out tonight of Iona, with the following picture. Just reminds me of the old days of flying, when they manually started the engines. I know cruising is going green, but a stage to far. 3 1

pete14 Posted February 14, 2020 #464 Share Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) Thanks again jaydee. As far as I am concerned, May 14th cannot come soon enough. Hopefully the rumours about late delivery to Southampton can now be put to bed although I am sure there is still plenty to do on the interior. I am sure she will be ready in time - I had the exact same panic last year regarding Spectrum and her maiden voyage was April 18th - think her float out was around about 26th Feb so I am sure Iona will be ready 🙂🙂 Edited February 14, 2020 by shopaholic6 Addition

Adawn47 Posted February 14, 2020 #468 Share Posted February 14, 2020 We've been following this thread from the very beginning, even before i enrolled in the forum. It's been fascinating and very informative and thanks to everyone that has been supplying us with all the updates, photos and videos. We're not comfortable on large ships so we won't be sailing on her, but she really is a magnificent ship. 1

Not long until the end of June for us.

There will be lots of walk throughs by TA's who are going on a ship visit, youtube will be full of them. There are some of Britannia on there as well. I’ve been banned from booking holidays Currently. Can’t wait to see what Iona is like though as we are a young family then it’s supposed to be more geared towards us. We will see how it compares.
