When you get a chance to make a bid for upgrade do you bid on a certain cabin or just bid on a catergory

lYou bid on a category...they present your options and the minimum bidding price.  Good Luck if you try....I haven't heard of many, if any, who have been successful.

If you win the bid your credit card is charged and you are the proud owner of the new stateroom regardless if you approve of it or not.

Well I was successful on a Thanksgiving cruise last year.  Moved from an inside to a balcony.  Thought it was a great deal.

We successfully got family balcony up from oceanview last August.  Well worth it, except for the nouse from chairs moving from above in the morning

Two good results!  Worth trying...I probably didn't bid high enough, but didn't want to go over what I thought the upgrade was worth if I had wanted to book it in the first place.
