RNnNC Posted January 27, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2019 I wished everyone would refrain from this.
Seacreature101 Posted February 10, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2019 I remember well a little monkey that was suffering and in poor health. You could tell just by looking at it. The "handler" and I use that term truly as he slung the little guy around to take pics, did not care at all. I was sitting next to a vet student and we discussed. She went to the man and asked if she could examine the monkey. It was very ill and the man told her to just take it. She told me it was so sick she was going to take it to vet school and put the little thing to sleep. Never will I forget this and never will I encourage any of those cruel monkey people. They may smile all around you for pics, but I can only imagine what conditions the monkeys live in and have to tolerate in their short little lives. She told me it was nothing for them when one dies as they will just use another one. I know. There may be some that do love their monkeys, but this experience jaded me forever. lynncarol Posted February 12, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2019 If the above comments don't persuade a potential customer, I should add that I also saw a monkey scratch the face of the tourist that was posing with it.

I assure you that ^ happens! Over on the Bathsheba side of my island, I approached one little guy who was on a leash and "under control" - and got either bitten or scratched on the forearm! Maybe he didn't like my after-shave, or what? Don't mess with them. They're prone to rash behaviour: they're wild, after all. I found the picture I took of the lil delinquent! This is Him. .
