cruisencrazy Posted January 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2019 We booked very last minute for Mariner leaving next week. We were told we got the last cabin which was inside guarantee. Our cabin assignment is interior promenade view on the 7th floor. Looks like I can upgrade ($$). If you have thoughts one way or another, I would love to hear them. Lately we have been traveling in mostly suites. In over 40 cruises, this will be our 2nd time in an inside cabin.

Cruisin Kay D Posted January 24, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 24, 2019 Our friends who prefer to get a balcony used a promenade-view cabin on a sister ship, and liked it alot. They say if they were on a similar ship, they would get that cabin again.
LuCruise Posted January 24, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2019 We've stayed in promenade room on Allure and Independence and enjoy them (and also have booked for another). The window brings in light and gives you a window to look out. We also like the extra seat by the window. Had no issue with noise. We enjoy a balcony better, but if the price difference is a lot, then no issue booking them (and prefer to straight interior)
mrpayroll Posted January 24, 2019 #10 Share Posted January 24, 2019 I doubt $40.00 will get you the upgrade. That is the " starting point " . Like bidding at an auction. Opening bid rarely gets the item.
molly361 Posted January 24, 2019 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2019 I was just going to say I think the OP is talking about a Royal Up offer not just upselling themselves to a higher categoru
ToddnMichelle Posted January 24, 2019 #12 Share Posted January 24, 2019 we had a promenade view on Mariner for our first cruise in 2013 and loved it. Had balconies ever since so i'm jaded now but, if costs didn't make it possible, we wouldn't hesitate at all to get another.
