Just refared and saved a total of $1,430!  Amazing!  Didn't get the free gratuities for all of us though, but 4 out of 5 is still a fabulous deal.  Must be a typo on the Princess website.

I need to call my TA. I figure she is crazy busy this morning. Will call her later. I am hoping for $200 in free gratuities.

Congratulations!  No lower net price for me but wasn’t expecting it on a popular 28 day cruise on the Sky and 3 for Free is still our best net price

Do you honestly think air fares are cheap for UK cruisers flying to the US well I can tell you they are not but would still be expected to pay gratuities and drinks when many Americans get these free and then hav ethe cheek to mona about Brits removing gratuities.

I know fares aren't cheap in the UK. It's the way passengers are taxed, when going through the UK. Doesn't happen in the states.

I can fly across country in the US (recently IAD-LAX) for $6.40 in taxes using miles; flying through LHR is over $500.

What the heck am I doing wrong - I was being charged over $1000 for one way to fly through LHR. This was AA.

Several weeks ago there was a thread discussing discussing a new offer and my TA shared the details with me.

Called back and got a different rep. and she was able to do something!  Moral of the story is if you don't get the help you think you can get, call back and try again.

Now my cruise is a Baltic/TA cruise starting in August, 2019, so it is within the scope of this 72 hr. sale.  My rep. was able to just add on the free gratuities to my existing booking so I have all the goodies of a great rate, OBC, and speciality dining with now gratuities added too!  I now have my very own "4 for free!"   Grin.

Thank you, so much Astro Flyer!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You have saved me an additional $696 for my cruise!!!

In addition to the individual airline, the UK fees are also based on distance travelled, in addition to the specific airport. For example, LHR is more expensive than GTW.

Poohunderstands, that is wonderful!  Glad someone else got a great deal as well!  Interesting that your first Princess rep couldn't figure it out.  Mine couldn't explain why this promo has two different rules for the free gratuities (on the promo T&C's it says for up to 4 in a stateroom, but on the popup when booking and on her end it says for guests 1 and 2 in a stateroom only).

Just for your information, the flyer that I used and also was told that the free gratuities are only for first and second guests only.  Since there are only two of us, I didn't need to pursue this. Speciality dining is for up to 4 guests. OBC is for up to 4 people also.

Yes I see that they have corrected the T&C's now to show that it is for guests 1 and 2 only.  For emphasis they even added "up to 2".  I do have it printed out from earlier this morning that shows the "on behalf of all guests (up to 4) in a stateroom" but considering how much I already saved there's no point really.  Happy with the deal I got! 🙂

Just as an aside to this - I've learned that what we see on our 'internet' may not be the same as what a Princess rep sees on their 'intranet' ...  I've had to ask the rep to look at what I'm seeing also ( if it's better for me ... )

Wish this would help for my 2020 British Isles cruise.  Looks like I'll have to wait for a better deal there.  Glad you guys are saving money!

I was hoping the same thing.  Looks like only 2019 cruises.... :classic_sad:

Jenf22 - when are you cruising?  We are going in Sept 2020.

We've got June 9th booked.  It needs to be in the summer so the kiddo is out of school.  I'm really hoping for a sale.  It's pretty pricey!

I took advantage of my regal princess cruise, 17 Aug - 28 Aug 2019 out of Copenhagen and I saved a bunch, to include the onboard credit, prepaid gratuity and the restaurant compliment.

Tomorrow is the last day.

My price went down $40 and I was able to get gratuities included. I wish the price would go down even more.

Thanks Astroflyer!

Glad that you were able to lower your net cost.

Your cruise appears to be a similar itinerary as what I had to cancel last year.  I periodically checked this year’s prices & they were significantly higher than last year...supply & demand.

Yea - one port is different and I am excited about the other port. Right now, the price is $1800 more than what I ended up paying last year but I have more OBC than last year. Not enough to make up the difference though. I wish I knew how my tax situation was going to work out this year. :classic_ninja:
