Tampa Port to Airport

Our cruise will arrive at 8:00 AM, would it be cutting it to close to take a 12:29 PM flight?

Try the Florida Departures forum . This question is asked there almost every day. Post when you are sailing due to fog possibilities.

Carnival states no flights before 11:30 for their airport transfers so you should be fine at 12:30 if there are no unusual circumstances.

The airport is about 20 minutes away. I don't see a problem, even with a delay getting off the ship.

I live in Tampa (a block away from the port). The airport is a short 15-20 minute uber from the port. Each terminal has separate security you can only go through if you have a ticket for that terminal, which makes the lines pretty short. I've flown out of here many times and never waited more than about 20 minutes in security, and that was during holiday season

Unless you get delayed for over 12 hours due to fog like we got to experience on Miracle this past December.

Thanks for the input everyone. We are going to roll the dice and take the 12:29 flight.  It was either that or hang out until close to 6:00 PM. Hopefully we make it.

We cruised Tampa last week.  Uber from terminal 6 to the airport was about $15+tip.  Cabs were waiting for a $25+tip fare.  Shuttles were available for $8 per person, and FIX wanted $31 for two of us to ride the bus.

 

You will likely have time to kill, and the airport is very nice.  Just pray there's no fog and you will be fine.

There will be many shuttles waiting outside the terminal holding signs up, no reservations are needed. It is that easy.

The shuttles wait to fill up with 8-10+ passengers.  Not a good option if you are in a hurry to get to the airport. Unless you are solo an Uber or Lyft for about $15+tip is a better option.
