Hi CC experts!

My husband and I are booked on the QM2 in May.  The challenge is arranging for reasonable parking in Red Hook then flighting into JFK 10 days later.  Please note I considered Amtrak and public transportation but with luggage, it’s not doable.

I am open to any other combinations of driving/shuttle/charter bus with either point as the start.

i reviewed Transbridge but times do not work.

We are coming from the Reading Pa area.

i am counting on you experienced CC members!

Thanks,

Phillyrose

There aren’t any park/stay hotels for Red Hook that folks have posted about.  You could do a Park Stay on Staten Island or at JFK, but you would either have to pay to Uber to the port and Uber back to your car or just Uber to the port.

The suggestion for two one way car rentals sounds good if the price is right.

What are the exact dates you would need to park your car?

Hi 138East & Twickenham,

Great suggestion about the car rental.  I will check it out.

We are leaving Sunday, May 5th and flying back Wednesday, May 15th.

First transatlantic crossing, so excited and so ready.

Best,

Phillyrose

OP,  have you considered driving into NYC - park your car at JFK Airport's long-term/satellite lot - $18 a day (every 24 hours) - maybe come in a day early since it's closer to a 3 hour (155 miles) drive to Brooklyn with some weekend traffic.  A car service to Red Hook Pier should run you about $50 to $60 one-way plus tips.  Upon your return from the T/A - once your int'l flight landed @ JFK and you cleared CBP, it's a quick & free AirTrain ride to the parking lot; and, you can take your luggage on the airport cart from all airline terminals to the lot (rental fee was/is $7 ... not free).
