I am looking at downloading the app but, after reading all the bad reviews I am wondering if it is worth the trouble. How has it been working for others? What are your favorite functions & worst issues when using it? Thanks CCs!

The new app replaces Royal IQ and chat is still being rolled out...

The only ships that support the Royal IQ app are the Quantum class ships.

 

All other ships support the Royal Caribbean International App.

That's the only one that will work on Harmony. Yes, the chat function was just enabled.

Great to hear about the chat being enabled. Will be on Harmony in April and figured it would be rolled out by then. This hopefully means they will have any bugs worked out by the time we embark.

we are heading on Oasis in June, just wondering if the chat function can be used without purchasing the Voom package?

Chat function uses the free WiFi portion, but Oasis does not have it yet.

No, it only became available on Harmony a couple of weeks ago- there’s very little feedback on that functionality for now. Someone may chime in from their experience on Allure.

The Chat function worked well on Allure.  You did receive notifications with sound alerts when there was a new message.

I will be on the Harmony next but I was wondering If the Royal app was a better choice since I will be on other ships as well. Does it work on Oasis class as well?

You don’t have a choice which app to use. Other than Harmony which transitioned from IQ to RCI app (and may have some remnants) , all ships use one or the other. All Oasis class uses RCI app.

Would you please include the Royal IQ app information IF you do a review after your cruise? We're booked on Anthem in Nov, looking at Royal IQ to keep in contact with the family while on board - but also have heard mixed reviews. Any info would help.  BON VOYAGE!!

Harmony no longer uses Royal IQ. You can text free on Anthem.

And it is always possible the Quantum ships will transition to the Royal app by then.
