Casino Drinks on Us.

We get several offers constantly for premier casino cruise but naturally the dates don't match up with our next cruise. Anyone had any luck with calling in and being able to get free drinks pushed to a different date? I don't really care about getting the $500 casino cash part of the offer (or the early check in, cocktail parties, etc.) I just think it's dumb that we are not given free drinks right off the bat, especially since I usually earn them by mid day on day 2 of the cruise.

I'm not sure about switching dates, but I'll agree on the "right off the bat" thing. When I let the Players Club know about upcoming cruises to see what they can offer, I always mention getting the DOU card. They tell me it will be based on my play, but everytime I have it by the end of the first night, even if I just start out at the $5 tables. 🙄

I don't know the spending amount, just that I earned the points. It really all depends on how much you plan and win. Our last cruise I had only spent $200 in my casino money but hit 1500 points by day two. My husband plays differently then I do and he hit by day 4 I believe.

How much would you say you've played before you get free drinks?

Me, not much, because I think the first night the pit or casino boss looks at my prior play history and knows I'm pretty much good for 25-30 hours minimum and that I tend to be a good tipper.

Otherwise, at slots, it's $2.50 coin in = 1 point, 1,500 points on salings 5+ days, 1,000 points on 4 or less days. Table games is based on your average bet/time played/etc. Usually they want to see $10-$15 average per hand with a 4+ hour a day trend.

That could be it, never factors in play time. We pretty much live in the casino on our cruises.

Did you get any other offers under your VIFP area?  If you got premier cruise offers, you probably have "Dealer's

Choice" also.  We have been booking under this. (we find premier cruise casinos are jam-packed!)  It gives $200 free play and drinks on us card waiting in casino.  If you have a cruise booked already, you can call and switch to this offer.

I've always been told that if you have 5,000 points from your last cruise, you should automatically have "Drinks on Us" from day 1 on your next cruise.  We always have cards waiting for us in the casino, so that seems correct to me. We've never had to call to make that happen, either.  FWIW, I have stopped ordering the free drinks for the most part unless I want to drive the server crazy and move around instead of waiting for my drink in one spot.... that free drink can cost me $100, LOL!

I thought every cruise you take you start at 0 points, do they carry over, in other words, if I took a cruise lets say last month and I got over 1500 points and did get the drinks on us card, if I cruise say within the year again with carnival will I automatically get the drinks on us card on the next cruise?

You do start over at 0 on every cruise, but they also have access to your previous play history. You don't automatically get the card just because you had it on the previous cruise. However, if they look up your history on the current cruise and see you get 1,500+ points on your prior cruises, they might give it to you before you reach 1,500 points. It's up to the discretion of the casino boss. Usually this is easier at table games than slots cause you have to give your card to get rated and there is someone always rating you while you play.

Is there a way of keeping track of how many points you are accumulating as you gamble on board?  Is it reflected in your account somewhere so you can see it?

It will tell you on the slot machine on the little display next to where you insert your S&S card.

You have to have booked a "premier cruise".....not all cruises are premier....and you of course have to have that offer ....correct?

Not all cruises are premier, and not all are dealer's choice.  We booked a "regular" cruise which then turned into   dealer's choice later.  Same thing happened when our "regular" cruise turned into a premier cruise. (we book many, many months out!)  Switching was easy - just a call to the Player's club.  You can call them and see what deals they have for you:  1-877-432-8225   Or go to carnival.com/offers and put in your vip #.
