Changing stateroom at embarkation

Has anyone attempted to change staterooms when you arrive a the pier?  Did you have a problem getting your luggage if you changed rooms?

The ships sail full.  There won’t be any staterooms to switch to.

You are describing a situation that stopped many years ago being an option when there were cabins available...I remember being able to look for a sign up in the terminal...those days are long gone.

Almost every cruise that I remember has a sign at guest services that says the ship is full and no upgrades are available.

If you want to change then change now. Why wait until there is nothing available to change.

was told the manifest was closed and to check at the port.  I'm happy with what I have but wondered about upgrades at port.  Apparently RC doesn't have upgrades on sailing.  Thanks for the replies.

Not sure who told you to check at the port.  If it was a travel agent, I would not trust them with my business.  Ships sail full and you will not have any opportunity to switch cabins when arriving at the pier, as others here have stated.  Always book what you are comfortable with since you will not be getting the chance to "upgrade" when you arrive at the pier.  Enjoy your cruise.
