When ships change ports

Do ships get an overhaul when moving to a new port or do they just start sailing as soon as it gets there? Wondering if the Dream will get a good cleaning and maintenance when it gets to Galveston from New Orleans.

If it is a non revenue repositioning (no passengers), there will be more cleaning done. If it's a repositioning from Europe to the states, or vice versa, the ship gets in about 6 am, passengers debarck, and new ones get on. It is business as usual and no additional work is done.
