All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising). Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize. The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays. Post one. Post many. Up to you. Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others! Rare pierces Posted April 1, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted April 1, 2019 Busy weekend. We emptied out the in-law's house of 60 years and loaded the POD for its trip to their new home up north. Lots of memories. After a day of moving furniture, I was reminded of my father-in-law coming home with aching muscles and sore feet from his 40+ year job at a paper mill. The strong Jack & Coke that eased the rough edges and aches was referred to as his “Foot Medicine” and we always thought that was a cute metaphor. As I aged, I found out that the muscle relaxing and pain deadening effects of a moderate amount of alcohol is a good way to relax when life spends the day beating on you. Scotch is my Foot Medicine de jour and here it is in my favorite delivery vessel. Foot Medicine Dave

zackiedawg Posted April 2, 2019 #9 Share Posted April 2, 2019 Love the lizard in the pot. Lizards are part of living here in Florida too - I regularly have them getting into my house (smaller anoles and geckos), lounging by the pool (iguanas), and wandering up the trees (knight anoles). Here are some of my weekend wildlife discoveries in the wetlands: A closeup hello from the beautiful male painted bunting: A female red-winged blackbird hunkered down on her nest, keeping the eggs safe: A pig frog, poking out of the shallow water and making his croaking calls for a mate: A banded water snake coiled up in the reeds, staying just out of the water: A fat raccoon, sniffing around for a turtle nest to raid the eggs: A ruby-throated hummingbird male, sampling the flowers: You don't get to see the 'rubies' as much until the light hits their throat:
