Tell me all about Fascination U241

My first aft balcony cabin.  We're cruising with friends and they wanted to go with aft balcony; otherwise, I probably would have chosen something in the middle.  While I love looking at the wake, I'm a little concerned about engine noise and vibration.

I just off the ship last week and had the aft balcony.  U230.

The views are beautiful but it is very loud.   The noise starts about 45 minutes to 1 hour before docking (so it starts at about 5:45/6 am).   You hear a lot of engine noises and the ropes pulling.  I was honestly very surprised how loud it was.

Even given the loudness I wouldn't have change it for the space and views.

Thanks for the info!  We're in U241 and I'm pretty excited about it.

.

I never realized how much noise a WAKE could make

until we cruised on Caribbean Princess, when I got around to

the lowest stern deck I could access! It thundered like a waterfall, I kid you not.

Your ship may differ!

I used my Nikon D-90 to make a movie of the experience.

It starts along the Stbd. edge of the stern, walks thru a narrow passageway

and finally gets to the stern itself.

You can hear the difference between mere wind-noise over the microphone

and the roar of the wake itself.

I hope your wake is not as noisy as this one - lol!

We just got off the Fascination the 7th of April.  I wrote a review under CC called: Checking out ports after 20 years.  If you have any questions, other than about the balcony that I can answer, please feel free to ask.
