superduper123 Posted April 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2019 What do they do at a meet & mingle? It's been several years since I've been on a cruise that offered one. Also, can my friend who is not on cruise critic attend with me if she wants?

Rare h20skibum Posted April 14, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2019 What do you consider "good" prizes? My favorite was a Royal Caribbean Mouse with the ship floating in it. I haven’t seen one for several years, but I still use mine, and it still works Past Reviews post

englander Posted April 14, 2019 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2019 Different ships really do vary on what the door prizes will be. Sometimes there's a big spread of drinks and eats and other times just the basic coffee, juice and water with pastries. The Cruise Director can be either entertaining...or not so much. Thanks Last fall Anthem had it at 10AM on first sea day. Spread was pastries and juices. Drawings were mostly bottles of wine and beer collections (4 bottles?). Was good to chat with a couple people had met online. Otherwise just OK even though the wife won a bottle of wine. George

sellwingri Posted April 15, 2019 #13 Share Posted April 15, 2019 They used to have prizes like free speciality dinner certificates, free internet, and good bottles of wine. Over the past 2 years, it’s really gone downhill. It depends on the ship but my last cruise was a 16 day cruise through the Panama Canal and we had well over 125 people sign up and around 75 showed up. They held it in a lounge that sits 35 or 40 so half the people had to stand. The cruise director’s staff member showed up 10 minutes late and had 2 bottles of wine and 2 packs of RCI “stuff” (key chain, pen, cup). The real reason to attend is to meet those you’ve been talking to on Cruise Critic. Don’t attend if it’s for the raffle.
