Question About Atlantis

Hello!

We are sailing in May to Nassau and will be here from 10am-7pm. There are no longer tickets available online to Atlantis through RC but we were looking forward to it. I was curious if it's a pretty routine option to buy from Atlantis directly and get a day pass? I have only been on one other cruise and I get nervous that something terrible will happen, such as not making it back on the ship in time.

If I do buy a pass directly from the company, how do I get there? Is it easy to get a taxi/water taxi? Do they accept USD? How long does it take to get back to the ship?

I would really appreciate if someone could give me the whole rundown of what happened when they went to Atlantis from the port, without being a part of an excursion group! I am nervous to be in an awkward situation and I need someone to make me feel better, haha.

Thank you in advance!

We were there in December and cabbed over.  Easy peasy.  There’s 9 million cabs as you walk out of the port.   The cabs are vans - so be prepared to ride over as part of a group.

Also - do some research on day tx.   We bought one night in a room at harbour side and got 4 tx to Atlantis with our room.   We didn’t use the room and didn’t need it.   The hotel knew we were doing this and there was no issue.   For 4 of us this saved us some $$$ which we used for a cabana.

Comfort Suites also does this.

We just did this on our Enchantment cruise in early April.  I bought day passes from bahamasdaypass.com and we took a taxi from the port.  It was super easy!  Once off the ship, you go through the main building there and turn to the right where there are folks with taxi signs and numerous taxis/vans waiting.  Just make sure it is at the taxi stand and not some random person off the street offering you a taxi.  Many folks from the cruise ship were also doing this with us.  It's a quick 5 min taxi ride across the bridge ($4 per person, US cash only) and we were dropped off right in front of Coral Towers (let the driver know this is where you are going).  Immediately on the left of the front entrance to Coral Towers is the ticket desk, where we redeemed our pre-paid vouchers for the day passes.  Took 5 mins as well.

Finding our way out to the water park was a little more tricky - Atlantis is HUGE!!!!  But head through the hotel shops and casino and out the back doors and follow the paths down to the pools and water park areas.  Some signs were there to direct you but there is definitely a lot of walking!!!

When we were ready to head back to the port, we just returned to where we were dropped off and there were taxis waiting there.

As others have said, when you get off the ship ask around for a taxi to take you over to Atlantis. Once you get there you can ask the hotel for a day pass. There's also some things you can just walk around and see for free. When you're ready to go back just get a taxi at the hotel to take you back. Just don't wait until the last minute. You can see the hotel from the port. So it's not far at all.

If you do it directly at the hotel the beach day also has an option for a lunch plan, take it as it will cost more al a carte.

Are they doing one day stays now? the last few times I have looked there was a 2 day minimum.

I do not know, this is something different. With the Atlantis water park or beach day they offered the lunch option  when booking at their ticket window. It was worth the price.

We just booked it in December - so unless they’ve changed it since then ....
