Brewery tours in Boston...which did you like best?

My husband and I will be on the Anthem at the end of September/beginning of October and one of our stops is Boston. We're very interested in a tour that will take us to multiple breweries and if that isn't in the cards, we at least want to know the best brewery to go to.

Make sure that you have plenty of time if you do Harpoon on a weekend. Lines are long  to enter and it is very crowded. Two years ago on our cruise we waited in line for nearly an hour.  When we  finally got close, we decided to give up because even if we got inside, we would have had to wrestle with the crowd!

Fair enough, its a $25 cab ride each way, but Sam Adams brewery has a good tour and tasting room.  Take the shuttle to Doyle's (the first place that sold Sam Adams), and buy a Sam and get a free glass.

Trillium has a brewery and tasting room in Fort Point, and a beer garden on the greenway over the big dig.

Dorchester brewing is a good place as well.

But the premier brewery is, of course, Night Shift, but that is up in Everett.

City Brew Tours seems to hit the highlights, 5 hours for $99 all inclusive with lunch.

We were there just last weekend and walked to Harpoon, but they had a huge festival going on so we visited Trillium instead. We loved it! They have a really huge menu and spacious indoor seating, outside patio and rooftop bar, which we did not see. They also had a nice food menu with most of the pub fare infused with beer as well.

How far is Trillium from the Black Falcon terminal?

Just over a mile, 20-30 minute walk to their Fort Point place, or there is a beer garden on the Greenway about 2 miles.
