Smoke on Vista Class ships

Has anyone experienced less cigarette smoke on the newer ships like Horizon?  I am very sensitive to the smoke so have to get prescriptions so as not to have allergic reactions while on vacation so wondering if the new ships have better ventilation.  I don't care to hear about the smoker vs non smoker arguments, just real life experiences with the smoke levels on new ships.  Thanks.

I’ll be on the sunrise in a month. Even though it’s not technically a new ship they are putting in a lot of things the new ships have. Maybe the ventilation will be new/different. So I’ll let you know on that one. I’m a smoker but have a strong sense of smell for smoke in areas you shouldn’t and my wife does not smoke and she can always sense it.

Until they change the smoking policy, I doubt we will see a dramatic change.  Smoking on our Journey cruise on the. Breeze was by far the worst, but my observation was that it was mainly due to the  cruisers.  Vista was no better or worse than others.

Why not think about a different line ..... I just got off the new NCL Bliss and there is no smoke smell anywhere. The casino is divided and the smoking section is completely sealed off from the rest of the ship with windows and doors.

I was on the Horizon last year and it was horrible. You would expect that  newest ship would have the best technology. Wrong!!!!!! I saw casino employees wearing masks when they were there. Imagine what their lungs look like it a few months. I don't expect the Sunrise to be any better.

No now if you want to get from one side of deck 5 to the other you have to go right down the center of the casino. At least when it was the triumph you walked down one side.

Unfortunately, it is still bad.

That is such a simple solution that appeases both smokers and non-smokers.

We did one NCL cruise on the Norwegian Dawn out of New Orleans in 2015.  Everything about it was just a bit more "stuffy" than the Carnival cruises so we haven't planned on doing another.  We definitely prefer the comedy club to what I thought was weird Saturday night live type bad comedy on ncl that trip.   Anyways, it just wasn't a good fit for us.  Thanks for the suggestion though.

The very first cruise I ever went on was for my honeymoon in 2001 on the Paradise when it was smoke-free. I sure do miss that because it was lovely! I also have reactions to cigarette smoke.

Best of luck on your next cruise!
