Unfortunately no. I couldn't convince family & friends. 

 

Anyhow,  hoping for a contest to win a free inaugural cruise. And Icon jacket & hat. And drinks. Lots of drinks. 😜

I do not blame them since so many have had issues and got delayed.

 

Thanks for the photo of the model.  I gotta say the model looks a little cheap thought.  More interesting will be the crystal of the ship.

My goodness you do have your sources.

Do your sources know if the new Captain will stay with Wonder until summer and then go to shipyard

which looks to be thawing out a bit?

I have also been keeping my eye on that Yachtmodelmaker Facebook page. Someone in the FB group spotted the Icon model post first and shared it.😊

 

I don't  know anything on the captain unfortunately. @Lloyd555?

"Take a behind-the-scenes look at Icon of the Seas' launching ceremony!

Currently, Icon is being built at the outfitting pier, where the ship moved in December last year, when the launching of Icon was celebrated with a traditional launching ceremony.

Icon of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's first ship that runs on liquefied natural gas and utilizes fuel cell technology. Together with its other features, such as shore power connections and waste heat recovery systems, the ship becomes a pioneer in sustainable development.

Icon of the Seas will be handed over to the customer at the end of 2023 and will set sail on its first voyage in January 2024. The ship will cruise from Miami year-round in the Eastern and Western Caribbean."

Looks like some of the white plastic wrapping has gotten blown off some of the lifeboats.
