Not going to worry about it. Still a great rate, cash, reception & gifts...and maybe I'll get lucky 😁🎲🃏

Yes, I wouldn't worry either. Just temper your expectations and don't get your hopes up to high. 🙂

I'm a great tipper and I don't roam off if I order a drink. It was just hard to get drinks on this cruise in the casino. 😉

Waiters I did see had full trays of drinks all the time.

Go and find out for yourself and don't take my word for it. LOL 🙂

I agree...we just did a premier casino cruise last month.   I could barely get a drink at all.   I stayed put when I ordered --took almost 20 min to get back with the drink and I always tipped.   Also, to get them to even come to you to order the drink took awhile too...so from the time I wanted a drink to when I actually got one was easily over 30 min each time.

Luckily I don't really drink much, but did want to take advantage of a few drinks for the DOU...unfortunately, that just didn't work.

I'd like to hear more about the reception too.
if there are platinum/diamond cruisers here, is it similar to that reception?

Good to know my daughter will be able to attend with me :-}

Yes, it is the same as the Platinum/Diamond Reunion Party.  It used to have better food but now it is the same.

Truthfully, I was hoping they'd make it more fun ... please tell me they leave out the epaulet and ship history quizzes  :-}

Oh, well...a drink and play money isn't awful!

Thanks, Elaine

Yeah, none of that.  Some introductions and review of the perks--- usually no fees on cards used at tables and higher daily charge limits and the first drawing.

Curious; is a casino premier cruise the same as "casino rates" because I just started getting those recently plus I got a thing in the mail for some free chips. Is that the same thing?

Carnival has different casino offers: Getaway Cruises, Dealer's Choice, Weekend Tournaments & Premier.  All of the offers are different, but if you log in to your Carnival account and click "My Offers" you'll see them.

Not sure I can answer this question.  When I look at my offers, the Getaway looks like it could include some of the Premier benefits.  I think it might be best for you to contact the casino group and ask them.

Typically Getaways are shorter cruises (4-5 days) and Premiers are longer.  We did a Getaway on the Elation out of Jacksonville in February and leave next week for a Premier on the Elation again, but out of Port Canaveral.  I am planning to do a review comparing the two once we get back.

Booking with a Travel Agent / ASTA will be a better benefit as they are Professsionals and are able to apply the RATES which are best for you./ Much lower tyhan direct from the Cruise lines.

BTW if your going to see the Space Ships , ask your US Congress Person  as you do pay High Taxxes and the admission is GRATIS from the US Congress Person to/for you!!

Interesting. I thought you had to call your Carnival PVP to book your cabin and to qualify for the Premier perks.

This is true, however, Getaways can also be Premier...see attached.  That's why I didn't want to go into details.

I've got my 3rd premier coming up this fall. A few thoughts:

Look at you Premiere schedule and make sure you are there for every drawing. Past 2 premiere cruises me and my cabin mate have won 3 drawings between us.

Don't skip the premiere kick off party the first night. They bring around free drinks and the free hors d’oeuvres. are good.

If you want to get free drinks quickly, hit up the casino earlier. I like to get bloody mary and mimisas in the morning on sea days. Just after dinner is a good time or during dining times it isn't quite as crowded. Around 8 to midnight or later the casino is packed so expect to wait for drinks. If you want beer, for example, consider ordering Fosters because it's 25 ounces and will last a little longer. I tip well so I've had good luck with waitstaff remembering me by name and would even ask my cabin mate where I am when I'm not in the casino. That said, they do have a lot of people to wait on but I've never gone more than 20 minutes between drinks even during the busiest times.

If you like table games and want to make your money last play at a relatively crowed table so you play fewer hands per hour.

I have to take frequent breaks from the casino. I'm not a smoker so I need fresh air.

I was just on back to back premier cruises. I was pleased to find that each party had different food. The two premier parties had the same wings and shrimp, but all the other 5 appetizers were different. Same with the diamond party. All four had totally different foods from each other. I made sure to point that out and thank the chef at the diamond party.

I'll add one more. When they are really busy and drinks are taking 20 minutes to come, just order another each time they bring one.

Yeah I would ask how long they would be on shift until break or whatnot and just ask that each time they come around they would bring my preferred drink. Then I would know when they would be going on break so if I wanted any more I would have to ask someone else at that point.
