Canceled port Warnemunde, ms Rotterdam.

As forecasted, the winds this morning were very strong. The waves in the harbour were around two and a half meters or roughly 8 feet and the harbourmaster closed the inner port. As the wind was forecasted to increase it was not safe to dock anywhere else and the captain took the safe decision to cancel Warnemunde. 

Warnemunde is used for excursions to Berlin, so a lot of people will be disappointed. They are now looking to replace tomorrows scheduled seaday into a port stop in Riga. As I'm writing this they confirmed Riga as a substitute, so it is a good and fast followup!

You will not be disappointed with Riga!

in my opinion, even better for a Day visit than Berlin, which needs several days to explore and is easier to get to by land or air.

Well, we were not going to Berlin anyway, so yes, an improvement for us. As long as Saint Petersburg stands, we will be fine😀.

Sorry you had to cancel one port.  Hopefully the winds will calm down and you won't miss St Petersburg.
