Caitlynhanc Posted May 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2019 Going to Bermuda with carnival on Sept 16th and wondering what the best beaches are within walking distance? and is there a beach right off the boat?
Rare 1025cruise Posted May 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2019 The best beach is Horseshoe Bay. The shuttles to it are walking distance. The only beach in the dockyard area is a man made beach for the tourists.
CookieShip Posted May 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Snorkel beach is withing walking distance of the Dockyard area, it's $5. Not much special about it, but I didn't want to venture far on our last port day. Horseshoe Bay is much better beach, the minibuses that take you there are shorter walking distance than to Snorkel beach, just $7pp each way. Can also take the public bus from the clocktower mall. It was fairly crowded when we were there last week, but if you don’t need a chair/umbrella, you can walk a little ways to your left (if you are facing the ocean) and go around the rocks to some quieter coves.
BallofGoof Posted May 15, 2019 #8 Share Posted May 15, 2019 Last September we took the public ferry from the Dockyard to St. George's and then walked to Tobacco Bay. It was beautiful, and wasn't that crowded - plus it had a little cafe and bar as well as a public bathroom so you could change. We'll be going to Bermuda again next October (2020) and are planning a full day at Tobacco Bay.

It is about a 15 to 20 minute walk from the St. George’s ferry terminal. I usually walk it. You get to walk by the Unfinished Church. In July and August it can be hot and humid. For those who have mobility issues or who don’t want to walk when there is uncomfortable heat and humidity it is a five minute taxi ride and not very expensive because of the short distance. rosebudw1 Posted July 3, 2019 #12 Share Posted July 3, 2019 It looks like you can rent beach chairs here. Do you know the cost?
