Book now or Book onboard?

If you are in the US you can book now if you feel the price is good.  Then once on the ship if the price hasn’t increased you can cancel your booking and rebook on tge ship for the extra OBC.

What I do at times is book the cabin I want now. Then I book the same cruise while on board. Keep the reservation that benefits us the most and get the cabin I wanted all along. I call or email my TA with what I want to do.

We are sailing this year and fancy a sailing next year that is available.

Would you book now or wait until we sail in September?

Thanks

If you book on board and I am not saying you should do so, consider transferring to a TA when you come back, you will likely get more perks.  For example if the cruiselne gives you two perks my agency will give me the other two and depending on cabin sometimes more OBC.
