So I should read 3,260 replies over 130 pages???

you can also search the thread for your room type and see what results you get.  Good luck with your bidding.   Someone on our last cruise lowballed the bid for the Garden Villa and got it.   He promised to come to the meet & greet but we never saw him... probably was on the sun deck all day - every day.  😉

great please reply to my post there

I would have been happy to give you info here, drvmywifecrzy, but I don't know the answer. Was trying to point you to where someone would be bound to know. I'm still learning about bidding myself--my last cruise was 4 years ago and there was no such thing then. Good luck!

There is a search box in the upper right side of the boards.  Searching bid for garden villa should give you lots of information.  You can even be specific about the ship if you get too many things to comb through.  Good luck finding your information. We have purchased our Haven cabins outright, but thinking about trying the bidding system.  In 45 cruises we have never done that.  Maybe you could post for all of us, how it turns out for you.  Happy bidding...

Thanks yeah I have bids for H4 & H7 and looks pretty good that someone will get upgraded.  I am already on a casino comp in a Balcony so that allows me to bid heavy if I so choose

There are a lot of factors taken into account, so I don't think there is a magical number that will make it work.

But if you are 2 people in a cabin, you will have better odds than a family of 4.

If you are in a minisuite, I think you have a better chance than a balcony, unless the balcony is aft.

Holiday season would be higher bids than lower seasons.

I tried to move my family of 4 from a balcony to H4 with a bid of $2000pp -- got denied!

Copied my post from upgrade thread :

We booked a large balcony mini suite. Original price $1719 pp all 5 perks including 3rd & 4th free. My bid on the Haven 2 bedroom H4 was $1600 pp which was an upper fair bid. On Tuesday the suites and mini suites changed to sold out. I upped bid to $1750 pp but I believe all upgrades for those cabin types were already made. I actually conversed through Facebook messenger with someone that won upgrade. They were notified on Tuesday. They had a midship mini-suite for 3 and won the 2 bedroom. She didn’t give me exact bid, but did say it was lower good area. I don’t think it was much more than ours.

I also heard that that someone with an aft have suite won an upgrade to owners suite. The owner’s suites had been showing as “sold out” at least since January. So as many have said in the past, you can still win a bid on a “soldout” category.

Suggestion would be to call back casino at sea and see how much more it would be with them to just upgrade out right with them.  Even if it's more than your willing to pay it gives you some kind of starting point for your upgrade advantage bid.

Next step is to read at least some of the main thread, and you will see that each cruise is different each and every sailing, while $800 per person might win on sailing. $2000.00 per person next weeks sailing might be denied

really since you say your willing to bid heavy, your probably best just calling and paying the difference. Enjoy your cruise!

You can call and probably upgrade for less than a bid. I have a few friends who were on a casino comp that paid less than few grand total for an upgrade to an H4 and H7 from a comped balcony. I think about $1k/person.

If an H4 were to be available and you got selected for a bid, I think you'll be lucky.

Those H4s seem to sell out and no doubt there will be many bids on any available.

Hoping I get it......still two left

Have a cruise coming up - was contemplating a SC 2BR suite on deck 11 (JEWEL) and no doubt NCL

would give me the opportunity to bid on a higher better suite.

Then noticed the Haven H4 2BR cabin for $400 more per person about the amount I would have bid

for the better prime location - so I took this deal because for that difference I would be able to pick

my cabin location instead of having it arbitrarily being assigned.

Yes it is possible to get cabins like the GV for a substantial reduction in price IF NO ONE else BIDS and

NCL is left with the one upgrade/bid as a result. Same would be true for any other class of cabin -

only one bid - that one gets the upgrade - If you don't bid you will get nothing - you can't expect to win if

you do not play the game.

Is it worth it ? - what you expect to get out of your cruise vacation varies - having a nice big cabin great

with perks bennies goodies booze butler concierge as NCL states "You could get used to this" !

If you really want it, book it outright.  Also, to the person that reported they heard of someone who lowballed the GV and got it, remember this is a public forum and there are some people that are less than 100% truthful on here.

Have you added more to your bid to take into account you are competing with others that have mini suites and even lower havens already booked?  From constantly following the main threads for years, h4 seems to be one of the most popular havens, and are often won by haven or mini suite customers because then the ca get more $$ from their bids then your balcony.  Next cruise suggestion would be to go off season for more leverage
