Well I made it to Miami! No thanks to Virgin Atlantic and Delta who did not leave enough time for the connecting flight in Atlanta. At least 15 of us had to be put on standby for 5.15 and the 7.18 flight.

Got to my hotel at 9.30 so partying has to wait lol. After 18 hours travel and the time difference, I needed my sleep.

stayed at Eurostars Langford Hotel, strange name but great hotel, highly recommend and not badly priced for Miami 😱

So now getting ready to depart for the port and the cruise! 😎

Will update re embarkation etc when I can

cheers

Pat

Enjoy & happy cruising !!

WiFi on the BA is great, live posts "should" not be a problem, from personal experience using it, dual-band support and you should find 5 Ghz to be less congested & possibly faster, depending on your devices.

This is my first cruise with NCL. Previously cruised with Celebity, RCCL, Azamara, Cunard and P&O.

First impressions - embarkation was a breeze, boarded 40 mins after check in (Group 4) about 11 am.

Ship looks amazing - very impressed so far.

Managed to get a Vibe pass and enjoyed a couple of cocktails and a shot there (there are some very naughty people up there who press drinks on you!)

Had lunch in Savor, Cajun Shrimp salad and prawn arrabbiata penne pasta. Both delicious.

My room is 13176 midship balcony, which for a guaranty is pretty awesome.

Room is lovely, balcony is the smallest I’ve seen on any ship but I can fit on there so not complaining! 😱

Chilling out whilst I wait for my luggage. Pics to follow if I can upload them 😂

@Deeliteful,

Following along. Thanks for taking the time to keep us updated on your trip. We'll be on the Breakaway in three weeks (Western Caribbean itinerary) but hope to pick up some ship-specific tips from you.

Early dinner in the Manhattan room with new friends. Very enjoyable, great food choices, I had Shrimp and crab cake followed by Atlantic Salmon.

Casino pretty busy and smoky! Played Texas Hold ‘Em for a couple of hours. Good fun.

Early night for me though.

Meet and Greet is at 11 tomorrow and 80 CCers have signed up so will report back.

Received a gift of a bowl of fruit in my room today and a VIP invite to the Captain’s cocktail party in the Haven tomorrow night and I think these are for arranging the M&G which is a nice touch.

Thanks for following, hope I don’t bore you sleep!

Thought I would list my alcohol intake for my first day - I have the drinks package.

Sol when I got on the ship.

A Bushwhacker, a Mudslide and a Honeymoon shot in the Vibe.

A glass of wine with dinner (some of the wine prices are ridiculous! I tried a Californian Sauvignon Blanc first but had to pass, really not nice at all, do a Pinot Grigio (Italian) which was much more drinkable.

Casino I had two Rebellious Fish cocktails - very nice.

So a pretty tame day overall, enough to make me smile but not enough to make me cry😂

And a good morning pic on our way to our first port of San Juan, PR, don’t arrive there until tomorrow evening.

Today was our CC Meet and Greet at 11 am in La Cucina. 76 had signed up but only about 30 made it. NCL arranged drinks and pastries and introduced some of officers and directors to us. We also had a gift exchange and walked away with a souvenir of the other person’s state (or country in my case).

We all met for a slot pull at 3 pm but the spins weren’t on our side so $20 each turned into $7 but two people won $155 between them for highest spin.

Someone also arranged a cabin crawl not sure when.

prior to that I played in the poker tournament and whilst I didn’t win we played for about 3 hours and the table was great fun.

Couple more pics, will try and take more!

The Atrium and Miami Beach from the ship.

Towel animal tonight.

Captain’s Cocktail Party in the Haven. Met a couple staying in the Haven who think the rooms are great but the pool is awful and not outside.

Had a drink in Shakers on the Waterfront, this area is such a great idea, I don’t understand why more ships don’t do it.

Ate at the Noodle bar which was very good. Played poker and won back the money I lost last night so result 👏👏

My DW loves the Le Rime Toscana Pinot Grigio they served on the Getaway so much, that we now order it by the case from our local liquor store!

Hey Deeliteful! We were on this cruise May 5th. Tell Davidette (Ivey) in the Vibe bar Eric said hello. She also works in the bar between Cagney’s and Moderno. Thanks for the live review and enjoy those libations.

Today was a sea day. I had breakfast in the buffet as I was too late for anything else! Nice lie in, I managed to sleep until 10.

Then to the Vibe, my only complaint about this place is there is not enough shade. I think it would be greatly improved by putting an awning over the armchair side so people have a choice of sun or shade. I did manage to move my bed close to the bar in total shade so a win-win in my eyes 🥂

I lunched in O’Sheehans. A 10 minute wait for a table and then very good service.

I spent the afternoon on my balcony and enjoyed the sail in to San Juan, great watching the dolphin in the harbour there.

I had booked dinner for Le Bistro tonight as part of my 3 dinner dining package and had a drink in Mixx bar first.

Food in Le Bistro was excellent, sorry I didn’t take any photos, should have! I had Cocquille St Jacques, Sea Bass and profiteroles with a glass of Pinot Grigio followed by coffee and a cognac.

Finished my cognac at The Waterside in Maltings.

So as we are in port, no poker tonight so decided to enjoy a quiet read and an early night.

Having read so many negatives about this ship before my cruise, I really didn’t know what to expect but I am a positive woman by nature and try to see the best in everything. If there is something wrong though then I will say it.

Well so far it’s definitely more positive than negative, I have had no waits at any of the bars, all food has been excellent but I think you have to find your spots to enjoy the cruise your way.

For example the pool area is quite ridiculous! So small and incredibly noisy, my idea of hell I must say - so I don’t go there. If Vibe is not your thing there are still plenty of quiet spots to do your sun worshipping.

The ship is huge and does get very crowded in places but again you can fin the quieter spots. The Atrium, O’ Sheehans area get very crowded so avoid them if you don’t like crowds.

i took some pictures of the sail in to San Juan and will try to post ASAP. Also a couple of pics from a fellow cruiser who did go into the port, thanks Brooke Fields.

Can you spot the dolphin?
