Muster location

Every Princess cruise I've taken since 2009 has had indoor muster stations. And as marden1970 points out above, they've even recently done away with the need to bring your life jacket to the muster drill.

There is a simple reason Princess musters inside:  There is simply no room on the promenade for all the passengers at once (especially on the Royal class ships).

In the event, they would lead folks out to lifeboats one lifeboat at a time.

And, yes, they decided it was better for safety to forego life jackets at muster than patch up the fall injuries caused by trailing life-jacket straps on the walk back from muster.

Does Princess still require passengers to muster outside on the deck or have they moved that process inside?

Thank you.

We've been cruising since 1996 on Princess and Princess Cruises has never mustered outside during that time.

Some other cruise lines meet outside.

Actually the two main reasons for the inside muster:

1) It is very rare that an emergency requires leaving the ship. Mustering inside means that you are in relative comfort (no matter what the weather outside) until the emergency that caused the muster to be needed is resolved. This can take hours.

2) In the rare event that an evacuation is needed, not all of the lifeboats might be accessible due to what is causing the emergency. Mustering inside means you can be led to a lifeboat that is accessible and functioning.

One lifeboat at a time?  I can see a Titanic recreation
