any advice on getting to the Cruise Port for a Anthem of the Seas from

Connecticut ?

Sometimes travel agents with a large local market will arrange a bus for a particular cruise, but the odds are that you will be on your own.  Metro-North to Grand Central might be part of your getting there - but one way or the other you will have to figure taxis or Uber for part of your trip , unless you just arrange (fairly expensive) car service door-to-port.

Unless you live near a Metro-North station, you might find it easiest/cheapest  to drive to the port and pay to park your car.

Public transport might involve Amtrak from Stamford to Penn Station , then NJ Transit to Hoboken area, then taxi to port.  You could wind up paying almost as much for the local transport as for the cruise.

If you are near New Haven you can take Amtrak from Union Station in New Haven to the Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and then take an Uber or Lift. Once you get to the train station at EWR, you will need to use your Amtrak ticket to get you to the monorail to the airport. If you don't have the Amtrak ticket then it is $5 to use the monorail. You can then exit the airport for your Uber or Lift.  You cannot exit the train station, as there is no direct access to the road.

If someone is taking Amtrak from Connecticut  it's cheaper, faster and easier to take the train to Newark Penn Station.

Cheaper because the Amtrak ticket will cost $5 less . You won't be paying the $5 AirTrain surcharge that's built into the price of tickets ending or originating at EWR.

Faster because the Newark Penn Station stop is before the Newark Airport stop and you don't have to then transfer to the AirTrain and take that to the airport itself.

Easier because you're not fighting the EWR crowds.
