go4ak Posted July 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2019 We are going to be staying two nights in NYC in October before our New England/Canada cruise. We purchased the Princess transfer from the hotel to the port. Does anyone know how the pick up works? We are wondering if we can check out of our hotel, leave the luggage and then do a little sightseeing in the morning. Do they do multiple pick ups or only one? We "can" board around 1 and sail away is at 4pm. Thanks in advance for your time.
princeton123211 Posted July 9, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2019 Pickups like these are usually at set times dictated by the cruise line. If the transfer was separate from the hotel and you want to spend some extra time at your leisure I would suggest trying to cancel it as its very easy to take an Uber/Lyft to the pier (and most likely less expensive than what you are paying per person for the transfer). If its bundled into the hotel, as it often is, you can either be beholden to when they say to leave, or just skip it and take your own transportation to the pier to spend some extra time in the city.
Travelling2Some Posted July 12, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2019 I was going to say the same. Save your money and just jump in a cab or Uber and go over to the pier whenever you want.
AF-1 Posted July 15, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2019 Princess transfers usually stop at several of their pre-cruise hotels. So I assume your hotel is one out of several on the list. Your hotel may be first or last for pickup. When you get closer to sail date contact your travel agent of Princess directly.
Nitemare Posted July 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2019 The Princess board here would know better than the NY board. But I agree, get yourself to the pier. And it's likely you can book your NYC hotel for cheaper on your own than thru the cruiseline.
AF-1 Posted July 16, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2019 (edited) Princess hotel room rates will be per person and not per room. The transportation may be included; but you should be able to find a cheaper rate and take a taxi or uber for much less than what the cruiseline will charge.
